Lussier Hot Springs
Beloved riverside pools in Whiteswan Lake Park — currently closed by BC Parks.
Lussier Hot Springs is normally one of the Kootenays’ favourite free soaks: natural rock pools stacked beside the cold, rushing Lussier River, with hot water seeping in at around 43°C and each pool cooler than the last.
BC Parks closed the springs in July 2024 after boulders above the upper pools shifted and created a rockfall hazard. The closure order was renewed on January 16, 2026, and in June 2026 the upper pools were filled in for safety while engineers assess remediation. A partial reopening of the lower pools is being discussed, but no timeline has been announced.
