Hot Springs Cove (Maquinna)
A geothermal waterfall meets the Pacific — boat or floatplane from Tofino.
At the end of a 1.5 km cedar boardwalk through coastal rainforest, a ~50°C geothermal stream pours over a small waterfall and down through a chain of rock pools that step right into the Pacific — cooler with every pool, until waves splash into the lowest ones at high tide. This is Hot Springs Cove in Maquinna Marine Provincial Park, in the territory of the Ahousaht First Nation.
Getting there is half the trip: about 27 nautical miles northwest of Tofino by tour boat (whale sightings are common) or floatplane. In 2026, Ahousaht-owned Ahous Adventures charges $239 for adults; several Tofino operators run similar day tours.
