BC Hot Springs Directory

Buhl Creek Hot Springs (Skookumchuck Creek)

Seasonal

Rustic creekside pools that only run hot in late summer and fall.

Buhl Creek (also called Skookumchuck Creek Hot Springs) is a timing game. The rock-lined pools sit at the confluence of Buhl and Skookumchuck creeks, and during spring runoff they’re flooded and cold. Come late summer or fall, the creeks drop and the pools warm to as much as 40°C.

It’s free, rustic and remote — about 44 km up the Skookumchuck FSR — with no facilities. Note that the creek crossing that once reached the riverside pools currently has no bridge, so plan (and dress) for a ford.
