Nakusp Hot Springs
The Kootenays’ friendly village-owned pools in a cedar forest — a local institution.
Nakusp Hot Springs has a claim few can match: it’s owned by the Village of Nakusp itself, and it feels like it — friendly, affordable and unpretentious. Two clean outdoor pools (roughly 38°C and 41°C, adjusted seasonally) sit in a cedar forest bowl beside Kuskanax Creek, 12 km up a paved road from town.
For 2026 the pools are open daily 9:30am–9:30pm starting May 9, after the annual spring maintenance shutdown (April 20–May 8). Last entry is 9pm. Chalets and a campground next to the springs make it an easy base for exploring the Arrow Lakes.
