BC Hot Springs Directory

Keyhole Hot Springs (Pebble Creek)

Closed

Dramatic canyon-side pools — closed indefinitely after wildfire damage.

⚠ Current statusCLOSED indefinitely (Dec 2024 order) — Mount Athelstan wildfire damage; extreme landslide/rockfall risk on trail and above springs. Also seasonal grizzly closures historically.

Keyhole Hot Springs (also called Pebble Creek Hot Springs) is a dramatic cluster of pools perched beside the milky-blue upper Lillooet River. It has long been one of the Sea to Sky’s most photographed wild soaks — and one of its most fragile.

The site is closed indefinitely. A December 2024 order followed the Mount Athelstan wildfire, which left standing burned timber, unstable slopes and extreme landslide and rockfall risk on the trail and directly above the springs. Before the fire, the area also saw recurring seasonal closures to protect grizzly bears. Don’t attempt this one until official word changes.
